What Makes Balayage Different
Balayage is a freehand painting technique rather than a foil process. Color is swept directly onto the hair in a way that mimics how the sun naturally lightens it. The result is soft, dimensional, and grows out gracefully rather than leaving a hard line at the root.
It requires a different skill set than traditional highlighting. The placement decisions are made entirely by eye, drawing on years of experience reading how hair moves, how light falls, and how color develops. There is no template. Every application is different because every head of hair is different.
